Service Reliability Engineer
£475.00 per day inside IR35 - 12 months - Hybrid Working (Remote/West London)
A global travel technology organisation is seeking a Service Reliability Engineer to join their team on an initial 12-month contract.

This role is inside IR35 and does require on site work in West London twice per week.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Deploy the automation of the microservices-based, streaming architecture within Kubernetes and Openshift
  • Ensure that the automated CI/CD and delivery pipelines are up and running and ensure automated fallbacks of regressions.
  • Contribute new features to the CI/CD pipeline using technologies as Helm and Groovy
  • Troubleshoot issues in production platforms by utilizing the monitoring and tracing dashboards.
  • Ensure SLA\'s and agreed deadlines are met using state-of-the-art, cloud-native logging and monitoring solutions including OpenTracing, Prometheus, Grafana and Splunk
  • Operate the new Platforms based on Microsoft Azure and develop CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab.
  • Manage live & batched Data feeds covering all segments of the business and other data providers.
  • Automate recurrent processes to streamline daily platform tasks and operations.
  • Assist, administrate and empower Users and Developers of the platform.
  • Automate the creation of new platforms for our internal usage and new customers.
  • Create monitoring tools and dashboards to manage and operate 100s of platforms.
  • Work closely with the Dev teams and answer their queries and assist them in deploying their microservices.
Skills:
  • Cloud platforms ecosystem, Container, and virtualization technologies experience (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Grafana, Splunk)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues in production and recovering from them.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or any equivalent technology.
  • Experience with Java, Helm, Groovy, Jenkins, Kafka and MongoDB are a plus.
  • General understanding of network layers (TCP/IP, load balancing, proxies) is a plus.
  • Linux sysadmin and Scripting skills
  • Have a solid grasp of scalability, stability, and security challenges of a customer-centric, cloud-based, and distributed platform.
  • Able to deliver high-quality and consistent results in a fast-paced, changing environment with shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge and (ideally) experience in Agile Scrum methodology.
