Job Description

Desktop Field Engineer

Salary: €400.00 per day
Location: Amsterdam (5 days per week)
Contract Length: 6 months (initially)

A global organisation is seeking an experienced Desktop Field Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month basis.

This role will involve on-site Field support primarily based in Amsterdam, with occasional travel to Utrecht/Leiden, therefore a car/valid license and a willingness to travel are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides support for software, and hardware support for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Installs and maintains PCs and associated software and peripherals.
  • Performs installs, moves, adds, and changes as required.
  • Tests and certifies PCs, and client-approved applications.
  • Provides follow-up on problems or escalation.
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanour, and dress.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction throughout the service delivery transaction.
  • Ensures client-specific Service Level Agreements are met and incident and request tickets are updated accordingly within the ticketing system.

Key Qualifications
• High school degree required
• 1-2 years of hands-on technical experience
• If possible, certifications like, i.e. EMC, Dell, Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, COMPTIA, A+ certification
• Troubleshooting software and hardware problems
• Excellent analytical and client communication skills
• Client and/or governmental clearance may be required
• Police or criminal background verification may be required

Other details:
  • Candidates must hold a driving license and be willing to travel to clients on a daily basis.
  • Candidates must live in the Amsterdam/Utrecht/Leiden area
  • Good administrative skills and experience with ITIL management systems like SNOW, Topdesk, etc.
  • A few years of experience to support international clients with deskside support on laptops/tablets/mobiles.
  • Experience with O365, Windows 10, and Office apps
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and English
