Job Description

Senior Network Engineer / Architect


Our client, a leader in innovative design of Building and Energy Management Systems is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer / Architect to join their team on a permanent basis.  This role will be responsible for producing and developing detailed Network Designs for Enterprise Converged building networks to end clients.  You will liaise closely with the wider engineering team, as well as 3rd parties to deliver complex solutions as part of wider scopes of work or individual projects.


Technical Skills:

  • Track record in delivering Enterprise grade Network Designs
  • Experience producing engineering documentation such as IP schedules, rack elevations and patching schedules
  • A professional Network Qualification, e.g. CNNA, CompTIA Network+ etc.
  • Experience of working closely with wider teams, to include 3rd parties
  • Experience working closely with design and client teams
  • Sound working knowledge of common network manufacturers such as Cisco, HP etc.
  • Experience of operational IP technology in buildings such as BMS, CCTV, Lighting etc.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with common building and IoT protocols such as Modbus, BACnet and MQTT.

    • To produce accurate work to a high professional standard paying attention to detail
    • Completion and submission of required paperwork
    • Adhere to relevant Health & Safety and codes of conduct in the workplace
    • Responsible for company vehicles, tools, and stock


    Essential Criteria:
    • Minimum 2+ years’ service and installation experience (ideally within AV, but experience with Smart Home/ general Electrical Installation, kiosks, cash machines etc. will be considered)
    • Full UK driving license
    • Ability to pass a DBS check
    • A good level of English – spoken and written
    • Good timekeeping, reliability, and a professional manner
    • The ability to be flexible within a working week as shifts can change between days and nights
    • Ability to manage your own workload
    • Great communication skills
