Desktop Support Engineer
12-month Contract
£250.00 per day inside IR35
Central London 5 days per week

A global managed service provider is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join their end client’s team on an initial 12-month contract. You will provide executive level support to users on site in Central London.

Responsibilities
  • Register and handle incoming calls/incidents on 1st line support.
  • Resolve hardware and software problems.
  • Ensure meeting room equipment is fully functional.
  • Configure PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, various Apple equipment, etc.
  • Install, configure, and monitor the IT infrastructure (LAN, servers, telephony).
  • Install various applications.
  • Maintain inventory databases of end user hardware, software, telephony.
  • Contribute to (international) IT projects.
  • Capable of providing training to end users.
 
Required technical knowledge
  • Active Directory and M365
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • GPO’s
  • VOIP and Unified Communications
  • WIN 10, WIN 11, WS2012R2, WS2016, WS2019, iOS, Android.
 
Personal Requirements
  • You can present initial work experience in a similar role.
  • You have broad PC knowledge (hardware-software).
  • You follow/know the latest office hardware tools.
  • You are passionate about the IT field, have a strong interest in and are well-informed about the latest developments in soft- and hardware.
  • You are communicative, proactive, have a sense of initiative, and are eager to learn.
  • You are sufficiently empathetic and can approach stressful situations with the necessary calm.
  • Flexibility is one of your strengths.
  • You work punctually, discreetly, and are a true problem solver.
  • As a true team player, you are still strong enough to handle tasks or projects individually.

    Essential Criteria:
    • Minimum 2+ years’ service and installation experience (ideally within AV, but experience with Smart Home/ general Electrical Installation, kiosks, cash machines etc. will be considered)
    • Full UK driving license
    • Ability to pass a DBS check
    • A good level of English – spoken and written
    • Good timekeeping, reliability, and a professional manner
    • The ability to be flexible within a working week as shifts can change between days and nights
    • Ability to manage your own workload
    • Great communication skills

    £40 DOE +bonus and overtime opportunities
