Network Field Engineer

OSI Model Project Delivery, CCNA, Ruckus, Meraki, Mikrotik

Location: Warrington

Salary: Up to £35,000

Employment type - Permanent

Role Purpose:

Our client is a nationwide network provider and they are seeking an experienced Field engineer with specific knowledge and experience with day to day projects with a specific experience in Ruckus and Cisco Certified CCNA. They are seeking a field Engineer who can travel to client sites and be able to work on various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Being the Conducting wireless site survey sign offs and producing accurate, detailed documentation to match.
  • Configuring equipment including wireless controllers, Switches, access points & Routers from different vendors such as Ruckus Wireless, MikroTik, Aruba/HP, Cisco, Meraki, Zyxel & Draytek.
  • Responsible for the installation of core equipment with the possibility of on-site. configuration changes during the commissioning stage.
  • To undertake accurate record keeping of stocks and to manage this.
  • To manage the site survey and create the bill of materials in the business system.
  • On occasions you may be required to complete LAN adoption tasks whereby you will be reconfiguring the previous Wi-Fi providers equipment.
  • Completing small outdoor installation projects and outdoor surveys.
  • Liaising with contractors who will be responsible for cable and AP installation.
  • Making on-site decisions when any installation difficulties arise.
  • Clear communication with; customers, line manager and the project management teams.
  • To continuously improve our processes.
  • To regularly review the RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements) reports.
  • To update the issues and update the service tasks.

Experience:

  • A good understanding of the OSI Model.
  • A good understanding of wired and wireless network architecture, specifically WiFi technologies, and associated configuration & installation requirements.
  • Ekahau &/or AirMagnet site survey experience.
  • A good level of Microsoft Suite skills including Word, Visio and Excel.

    Responsibilities:
