Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Central London Client Sites/Remote

Salary: £40k - £45k + Benefits

A rapidly growing company that specializes in providing cloud architecture, project management, and consulting services is seeking an experienced Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer (Level 3) to join their Infrastructure team. As a member of the team, you will work alongside highly driven experts, providing client-side support and contributing to the development of innovative solutions.

We are seeking a talented individual who will be responsible for providing technical expertise, project management, and mentoring to junior engineers and service desk team members. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of solutions, maintaining strong client relationships, and identifying improvements for customer environments. Additionally, you will be involved in the installation, configuration, and support of cloud environments, as well as designing and managing Firewall and security systems.

Responsibilities:

• Act as an escalation point for VIP customers and stakeholders
• Contribute to the company\'s vision and solutions to add value to the business
• Collaborate with Sales and Project Management teams to define milestones and deliverables
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and service desk team members
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying improvements for customer environments
• Install and configure cloud environments
• Design and support Firewall and security environments
• Configure existing software or architecture for new environments
• Update documentation including knowledge base, ticketing, and formal documentation

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years\' experience in IT Infrastructure environments
• Experience working within managed service providers (MSPs), IT consulting houses, or system integrators
• Extensive knowledge of industry tools and technologies
• Previous experience with end-to-end project delivery
• Hold a UK Driver\'s License (nice to have)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in VMware, KVM, OpenStack, and Kubernetes
• Strong knowledge of high-performance storage technologies (Nimble, Ceph, In-memory storage)
• Familiarity with Firewall and security platforms (Fortigate, Sophos, Duo, Barracuda)
• Understanding of healthcare system requirements and management mechanisms (NHS DSPT, HSCN, HL7, DICOM, FHIR, XML)
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Redhat
• Deep understanding of core service fundamentals (TCP/IP, IP Addressing, subnets, VLANs, routing, DNS, VXLAN, VPNs, LDAP, SSO)
• Experience with Veeam backup and replication, SAN-based snapshots, multi-DC replication
• Knowledge of MS-SQL, MySQL, IIS, Apache, OpenSSL
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively
