Technical Project Manager (Permanent)

£65k salary + £6k car allowance + other benefits

Remote/London or Reading

The Role:

  • Oversee and manage technical and/or logistical service Print/Document Solutions and ICT projects.
  • Lead planning and/or implementation of projects
  • Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements; resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; develop methods to monitor project or area progress; and provide corrective supervision if necessary
  • Responsibility for assembling the project staff; for their technical or functional development, performance, and/or termination during the project or programme of projects.
  • Facilitate the definition of service levels and customer requirements. Interact regularly with existing or potential clients to determine their needs and to develop plans for improving delivery. Advocate on behalf of clients and represent clients\' needs as appropriate to senior management. Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
  • Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.
  • Managing risk, risk mitigation and planning in all affected areas relating to associated projects.
  • Establishing process, documentation and controls for technical project management in line with business process and ethos.

Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques, and tools:
  • Execute & Control: scope, work plans, resources, deliverables, Q/A, transition planning, etc.
  • Established technical understanding and background.
  • Strong and tested project management skills, including sponsor and risk management.
  • Demonstrates clear methodology and process to work and associated tasks.
  • Ability to engage and lead project resources to achieve the desired results.
  • Understands who the client is and what the client\'s needs are; provides realistic expectations; establishes specific customer satisfaction standards and actively monitors client satisfaction.
  • Outstanding record of project management success, both in results achieved and in use of professional methodology. Proactive in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate risk.
  • Recognizes problems or situations that are new or without clear precedent. Evaluates alternatives and find solutions using a systematic, multi-step approach.
  • Fluent English

Education/Certifications:

  • Prince 2 Practitioner
  • APMP (desirable)
  • ITIL Foundation + (desirable)
  • 6-Sigma Certified (desirable)
